Hillclimbing Toyota-powered 1972 MG Midget for sale on Hemmings.com. From the seller’s description:
This race car was built on a 1972 MG Midget tub. The power train is a 1985 Toyota 4AGE (1600 Twin Cam) with a Toyota T50 5-speed gearbox. A custom drive shaft transmits power through a 4.22 differential to competition two-piece axles and competition double bearing hubs. The engine delivers 127hp at the rear wheels (146hp at the flywheel) which, with a weight of 1450lb, provides plenty of acceleration and top speed. The car includes a full roll cage, custom 3 link coil-over rear suspension, tube shock front suspension, MGB disk brakes, and many other modifications to make this a fun autocross, time trial and hillclimb car. The engine has been modified with twin Weber 45COE carbs, 272 degree cams, custom ignition system, and a custom header.
The car was built in 2010 and has been run in time trials, track days, and hill climbs in the Northeast. It was the NEHA P4 class hill climb champion in 2014. It is quick and reliable with the handling optomized for aggressive competition. It is offered with a spare 7AGE (1800cc) engine and a long list of spare parts including wheels, axles, hubs, and brake system parts. A fully detailed build description and spare parts list is available on request.
