1960 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. The car spent much of her life in California; I purchased her from a seller in Maui early in 2014. This is a solid car in very good driver condition.

The body and paint are in good shape. I don’t find any hidden cancer lurking under the paint and I think those types of issues would be appearing by now. There are some imperfections in the paint on the rear fins (due to inadequate paint prep by a previous owner). The undercarriage remains solid. Other than surface scale, road-grime and dirt, I haven’t discovered any major issues on the undersides. The chrome and stainless trim are in nice condition. The glass is in good condition with no fogging or cracks of any kind. The authentic patina and nostalgic condition of this car are really hard to find.

The door panels, upholstery and dashboard are in fine condition – possibly original. The convertible top is in good shape; it operates smoothly and efficiently with a touch of the dash switch. Some of the padding directly above the driver has come loose (looks like some loose stitching to me). The dash chrome, knobs, switches and interior trim are excellent. All lights, power windows, power top, turn signals, back-up lights, heater, wipers and horn are functioning properly. The gauges and AM radio work also. The factory clock is currently not working (although it’s accurate twice a day!).

Mechanically she’s very sound and reliable. The 390ci V8 4bbl runs extremely well. Automatic transmission, brakes, cooling system, front suspension, generator are all in good condition. In fact, even after sitting in my garage untouched for extended periods, there is very little fluid leakage on my floor. I had the fuel system gone through: full tune-up, new battery and an oil change. One finger on the steering wheel keeps her on the road.
