Restoring his 1957 Pontiac Safari for the road probably would have gotten it more use at cruise-ins and other old car gatherings, but Alan Freed had it restored as it was built – as a Hy-Rail, intended for rail inspection – and now uses it for sightseeing trips via rail across the United States and Canada.
