Hemmings Find of the Day – 1951 Ford Country Squire

1951 Ford Country Squire station wagon

1951 Ford Country Squire station wagon. From the seller’s description:

This is a beatiful hawthorn green woody wagon. The wood inside and outside are perfect and was done by the world renowned Nick Alexander. This car is nearly perfect from the ground up. The restoration is mostly known as Dearborn Standard, meaning the woody has all the correct factory options. The woody has the correct smooth and cool running flat head V8 with overdrive. Why I say cool is because most people don’t flush the engine block and will over heat even if they replace the radiator. Which I’ve also have done and put in a four core radiator. You can tow your classic teardrop trailers without worring about overheating! The transmission is a strong and easy shifting 3 speed, on the column. Breaks stop on a dime. Original Ford script glass windows. New correct golden tan/dark brown interior. “Battleship” linoleum in the back floor.(very hard to find). 3 correct seats, also very hard to find. Ford factory floor mats. Original two tone wood grain dash. Show quality chrome all around. Lots of factory installed options; Deluxe Magic Fan heater, AM radio and clock. Firestone whitewall tires. Wheel trim rings. Some added features to give it that cool woody look and sound include, Fenton exhaust headers with 22″ Smitty glass packs. Front end lowered slightly 3 ” with new springs and shocks. Led headlights. A Ron Heiden surfboard rearveiw mirror. Also. a Murf the Surf wheel cover over the spare. Garaged and babied. No rust what so ever. Nothing needs to be done. Just turn the key and push the button and off you go.
